Purposes of Processing
We process your personal data for the purpose of concluding or fulfilling the rental agreement you have entered into or will enter into with your landlord or landlady. We also process your personal data to fulfill legal obligations, especially rental law obligations, obligations to report moves, sanction checks, retention obligations, tax obligations, fulfillment of official orders, etc.
Additionally, we process your personal data for the following purposes:
– Identity and credit checks
– Debt collection
– Access management
– Communication and tracking of communication

Automated Decisions (Online Application Process)
During the online application process, SERWISS Facility Management GmbH assesses your suitability for the rental property and the likelihood of termination. This suitability assessment takes into account the information provided by you, calculations based on statistical models, and a credit report from a credit reporting agency.
If the credit reporting agency provides no response or a negative response, you will be informed. In this case, you have the right to exercise your rights to information and correction with respect to the credit reporting agency. Additionally, you have the right to provide SERWISS Facility Management GmbH with additional information and documents regarding your creditworthiness by postal mail or email (info@serwiss.ch). The additional information and documents will be considered in the ongoing rental process if the rental property has not been assigned by the time your information and documents are processed.
Processing and Storage of Your Data
Your personal data can generally be processed in Switzerland, EU and EEA member states, and the United Kingdom. The adequate level of data protection in these countries is determined by the findings of the Federal Council.
It is not excluded that your landlord, a (third-party) property management company, or a service provider may also process your personal data outside of this area, for example, by involving group companies or foreign IT service providers. In this case, your personal data may also be processed in other countries, such as the USA, generally, but worldwide. Not all of these states have laws that guarantee a level of data protection equivalent to Swiss law. Contractual arrangements are made to compensate for the weaker legal protection. EU standard contractual clauses recognized by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) are usually applied. In exceptional cases, personal data may also be transferred abroad without such contractual measures, for example, in foreign legal proceedings, but also in cases of overriding public interests, if contract fulfillment requires such disclosure, or if you have separately consented to disclosure.
